University of Minnesota College of Design assistant professor Barry Kudrowitz teamed up with Oreo for a “Cookies vs. Cream” video series that has since gone viral on YouTube.
More than 300,000 people have watched the commercial, which was uploaded last Friday.
The video was filmed on the University campus and features Ralph Rapson Hall, where self-proclaimed toy scientists Kudrowitz and Bill Fienup built the Oreo-separation machine.
Oreo approached Kudrowitz about the specific conundrum of separating the cookie from the cream that has plagued Oreo lovers for years. After a weeklong building process, the company sent their advertising agency to the University to film the ad and allow cookie cream lovers to coexist.
